About John Zerzan
I work by close reading and long argument: anthropology, archaeology and the history of technology set against the claims industrial society makes for itself. My essays are written slowly, in longhand and revision, and I test them in conversation before they reach print. Decades of writing and public speaking have left me with a preference for an unhurried, face-to-face exchange over any rehearsed talk.
