Mika Ninagawa
Tokyo photographer and film director behind Sakuran and Helter Skelter, known for saturated colour, flowers and goldfish
About Mika Ninagawa
Come to a booking expecting colour — I usually have prints spread across the table before we've finished introductions. We can talk about how a set gets built, why flowers and goldfish keep returning in my pictures, or what changed when I moved from still photography into directing Sakuran and Helter Skelter. I work in Japanese, I answer messages myself, and I like questions that are specific rather than polite.
