Come with a period you cannot get a grip on and we will find the way in. I work through archives, letters and memoirs, and most of my conversations end up being about how a mass of documents becomes a story a reader will follow. I am glad to talk about structuring a long book, testing a source that looks too good, or simply what daily life looked like behind the headline events.
