About Paul Nicklen
I dive with animals rather than at them, spending hours in freezing water without a cage until a leopard seal or a narwhal decides I am not a threat. Growing up in an Inuit community on Baffin Island shaped how I read ice and weather. Through SeaLegacy I turn those images into conservation campaigns, and I mentor photographers on cold-water technique, storytelling, and the ethics of getting close.
