Soufiane El Bakkali
Olympic steeplechase champion in Tokyo and Paris, twice world champion, building every season on the hills above Fez
About Soufiane El Bakkali
Fez raised me, and the hills above it are still where my seasons are built. Two Olympic titles in the 3000m steeplechase — Tokyo and Paris — and world golds in Eugene and Budapest came from that ground, plus a decade of Diamond League nights in Rabat, Monaco and Zurich. I speak most honestly about barriers, water jumps, pacing a final lap, and the patience distance running asks of you.
